How children learn

I tried to teach my child with books,
He gave me only puzzled looks.
I tried to teach my child with words,
They passed him by often unheard.

Playing with your child is so important.  It helps them understand the correct way to play, how to interact with others respectfully, how to use your words rather than behavior to get what you want, and it helps them understand their environment and the intentions of those around him.

Never assume your child is "just playing."  Everything he does is a learning experience and is vital to his future in becoming a competent adult.
