It helps them understand the correct way to play, how to interact with others respectfully, how to use your words rather than behavior to get what you want, and it helps them understand their environment and the intentions of those around him. Never assume your child is "just playing." Everything he does is a learning experience and is vital to his future in becoming a competent adult.
